As A Casual Gamer

Current GamerTag: TechSplashGamer
Previous GamerTag: TimoSpeed4370 (2010 - 2019)

  • What got me interested in playing video games as a very young kid was another kid called Sanjeevan, who used to be a friend from the JW Tamil North Congregation but not so much now. He brought his Purple Nintendo GameCube Console to play all his game collections, like Super Mario Sunshine, Sonic Adventures DX and Two Battle, Universal Studios Theme Parks Adventure, etc.

  • I used to like playing video games on a game console plugged into a television with a controller or playing personal computer games on a monitor screen with a keyboard and mouse, but now I get to play new and old classic video games on portable gaming devices, such as a Nintendo Switch and Valve's Steam Deck.

  • Even though I had a Sega Mega Drive and played the original Sonic the Hedgehog game, I never found the same level of anticipation from playing vintage 2D games as I do from playing more recent 3D games, like Sonic Adventure on the GameCube.

  • Even though I didn't like my so-called friend named Dadutian from high school, I should thank him for introducing me to PC gaming via piracy and some old classic games via emulations.

  • I played early Lego games on my Windows XP computer, like Lego Land, Lego Creator, and Lego Island 2. I also played Sonic 3D Blast/Flicky's Island and many MS-DOS games on PC as well.

Other Comments:
  • My favourite genre in playing a video game is 3D platformers, but I do like to play an open-world game where I get to climb or run on walls and traverse onto rooftops or floating platforms by super jumping, swinging, or gliding.

  • While I don't mind side-scrollers in the 3D platform video game, I am not a fan of automated 2D/3D hybrid back-and-forth orze gameplay. I'm looking at you, Sanic Rainbow, Insult-a-rations, and Force-stagia-rations.

  • Though I'm happy Sonic Team made Optional 2D and 3D platform gameplay separated in Sonic Frontiers and Shadow Generation, this gameplay mechanic is included in other video games such as Super Mario Odyssey, Trash Bandicoot, New Super Lucky Tales, Crush 3D, etc.

  • I like to customise my own character, such as giving it a gender, hairstyle, skin/fur colour, clothing with gloves and shoes or bracelets and anklets, and a voice. This customisation tool included in video games is Sonic Forces, Super Mario Odyssey, Lego DC Supervillains, Sunset Overdrive, Saints Row 4, etc.

  • I like to play video games that feature cartoon characters in different types of art styles and rendering tools, such as 3D modelling in hyperrealistic graphics with fur texture, 3D Cel-Shaded graphics, 3D retro polygon graphics, etc.

  • I am not a fan of playing online duty, bruh shooter games, whether in first- or third-person shooter gameplay, that have no story mode/single-player campaigns or melee combat and are forced to waste real-life currency on microtransactions or virtual in-game currency for live service mechanics.

  • I am also not a fan of blood and gore violence in cartoons or hyperrealistic video games made for adults, whether in survival horror or any action game, just innocent cartoon violence.

  • Recommend playing with a DualShock 4, DualSense controller, or any Xbox 360-like third-party controller for all PlayStation video games. As all Dual-Skin 1.2.3 controllers have slippery, mushroom-tip-shaped control sticks and downhill triggers, they are the worst experience to hold on to, in my opinion.

My Video Game Kite

2024-08-03 14.28.21.jpg

I purchase a Do It Yourself Kids Kite from Amazon last year and started painting the darkest green background with the heads of the three iconic video game characters on to the kite using acrylic paints, which are Mario, Sonic, and Pac-Man. After I finished painting the kite and let it dry off for a day, I would then test it to see if it can fly or not, in which it can despite being concern whether using acrylic paint or water colours will allow the kite to fly lightly.
